Biography
Originating from Kenora, Ontario, Kelsey is an oboist currently residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Kelsey holds both a Bachelor of Music in Performance and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Performance from the University of Manitoba. She studied with Robin MacMillan of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and has performed in masterclasses for such oboists as Frank Rosenwein, Sarah Jeffrey, and Charles Hamann. During her studies, she received several awards from the University of Manitoba, including the Marcel A. Desautels Fund Award, the Margaret H. Tyler Award in Music and the Marcel A. Desautels Faculty of Music Scholarship.Kelsey is currently a member of the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble. She has performed with local chamber groups, the Royal Canadian Air Force Band, Cirque Musica, and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing, Kelsey teaches both privately and as a clinician for schools in the Winnipeg area.Kelsey was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2020 Sound Espressivo Global Competition.

In-person private lessons are available at my home studio based in the St. James-Assiniboia area of Winnipeg. Virtual lessons are also available through various platforms such as Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Meet.
My current rate for private lessons are:
$25 for 30 min lesson
$35 for 45 min lesson
$45 for 60 min lessonHANDMADE REEDS
My handmade oboe reeds are available for $25/ea.
Reeds are often made-to-order, so please allow 1-2 weeks for processing time when ordering.English horn reeds are now available for $35/ea.
All English horn reeds will be made-to-order.Local pick-up is available for reeds. If you are unable to pick-up reeds, shipping options can be discussed.Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing any handmade reeds!
